Week 6

Hey guys! Wow!
As this week kept going, I kept saying to myself “I can’t wait to blog about this, man!” Let me tell you why…

So Monday, boy oh boy do I regret my decision to look cute that day… I knew I was going to be doing an on-camera interview (with Chuck Bell from NBC4 – it’s lit); you guys know I’m a graduate journalism student. So I wore this super cute jacket, my neck was ALL out, and I was ready to slay all day *Beyoncé voice and all.* BUT I had to park my car at school and walk with one of my classmates a couple of blocks down to NBC4. It was a cool windy day, you know, typical February weather. And yea, it was a wrap after that. I got the job done; the interview went great, but SICK AIN’T THE WORD!

So immediately after I returned to school, I got some hot tea, because I started to have that “scratchy ew, I’m about to have a sore throat” feeling. Let’s say I returned to school by 11am, by noon I had a sore throat.

I usually don’t workout on Mondays anyway because I changed my workout days to Tuesday – Saturday. So cool, I just went home that night, took some meds and rested.

But nah, the devil reallyyyy tried it.

So Tuesday morning, while I attempted to do my morning workout, my heart was beating outside of my chest, and every time I would jump, I felt my heart getting tighter, and I couldn’t really breathe.
Bish whet?

So I’m like, ok, let me sit down. So I stopped my workout.

Wednesday, THE SAME THING, I felt like I needed an inhaler or something, I was soooo out of breath. So I went to work, and I felt this way again, while just standing still. So that’s when I knew I needed to get this checked out, ‘cause somethin’ ain’t right.

So Thursday’s I have school allllll day… BUT WAIT, Thursday morning, as I’m leaving my house, I walk out, take two steps, then boom, I fall right on my face. How? No ice, no nothing…

Anyway, I visited my local urgent care Thursday night on my way home, and I found out I have strep throat. I’m like REALLY?

Moral of the story… Cover that neck.

The show still went on, even though I was unable to workout this week.

So, remember two things from this:

1. Your diet is 80%, exercise is only 20% – with that being said, I knew I wasn’t going to exercise, so I turned all my energy to making sure that my diet was SUPER CLEAN. No slip ups this week. (See my measurement update, and you’ll understand why this is so important)
2. DON’T OVERWORK YOURSELF. Nothing is more important than your health. If you feel weird while working out, STOP! It’s okay. Your wellness is way more important.

Measurement update:

Before this fitness challenge:
Weigh in: 145lbs
Chest: 34.2”
Waist: 27”
Butt: 37”

Weigh in: 147.4lbs
Chest: 34”
Waist: 26”
Butt: 39.5”

This is EXCELLENT progress for me, because even though I thought I wanted to be 135lbs. I don’t. I’m doing a lot of weight training and I would much rather increase the muscles in my booty, while tightening my abs, their trying to come through, I swear.
