Beyhive, did Beyoncé just drop a new single, with a video, less than 24 hours before her Super Bowl performance?
Yes. Yes she did!
“Formation” is Beyoncé’s first single in over a year.
It comes a day before she graces the stage, joining Coldplay, during the Super Bowl 50 halftime performance. #BeyReady
Formation is different and that’s what we love about Bey. She never ceases to amaze and it’s always genius, every-single-time.
It’s something about Beyoncé’s “surprise” work that brings out her voice and makes you say “gah damn, gah damn!”
Formation went after the negative remarks about Bey – from her child, to her husband, to her beliefs. While showing appreciation for her culture… her black culture, just in time for Black History Month. It’s lit.
“You mix that negro with that creole, make a Texas bama”
“Y’all haters corny with that Illuminati mess”
“I like my baby hair with baby hair and afro” referring to the comments about Blue Ivy’s hair.
“I like my negro nose with Jackson 5 nostrils” referring to the comments about Jay Z, and his nose
Oh yes, Beyonce had timeeeee today honey, she is not playing with y’all!
How about the little boy in the video standing parallel to a line of police officers, and on his cue, the police officers lift THEIR hands, followed by a glimpse of “Stop Shooting Us,” woo chile.
“Okay ladies, now let’s get in formation” UNITY IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY, especially with black women… HELLO!!!
“I just might be a black Bill Gates in the making”
“Always stay gracious, best revenge is yo’ paper”
I mean… Her country flair and dirty Yonce lyrics bring this unapologetic anthem full circle. Starting with “B!tch, I’m back,” yes ma’am she is.
There’s more greatness to it, but just watch here:
